Luxury asset portfolio tracker: homes, cars, boats and aircraft in one view
Updated November 7, 2026 · By the Owned Map team
A luxury asset portfolio tracker is for the owner whose wealth is partly something they can sit in, drive, sail or fly. A lake house held with a sibling, three classic cars, a yacht, a share of an aircraft and a plot of land do not live in a brokerage app, and they do not behave like investments: they cost money to hold, they are valued by opinion, and each comes with a title, an insurance policy, a registration and a date when something expires. This page explains how to track them properly, compares the kinds of tool on offer from the outside, and works through an example so you can see what the numbers say.
The short answer
- If your wealth is mostly in accounts, use a tool built around accounts. See our Kubera vs Owned Map comparison for one that mixes accounts with real assets.
- If you run a family office or an estate with staff, look at the software built for it. EstateSpace, Aleta and Masttro are the names we found; their pages are summarized below.
- If you are one owner with houses, cars, boats, aircraft and land and you want to see what they are worth, what they cost, what you owe, who shares them and where the papers are, Owned Map is made for that, at a small-subscription price.
Most owners of passion assets end up with a spreadsheet, a folder of PDFs and a calendar. A tracker replaces the three with one place.
Why passion assets are different
An investment is judged by what it returns. A passion asset is judged by what it costs to hold and what it is worth when you let it go, because you also get the use of it. That changes what you need to know.
- The running cost is the main number. Insurance, storage, mooring, hangar, upkeep and tax. A yacht can cost a tenth of its value every year to keep.
- The value is an opinion. There is no price feed for a 1967 coupe or a sailboat. You use an appraisal, a broker, a comparable sale or your own judgment, and you should record which.
- The paper matters more. A title, a registration, a bill of sale, an airworthiness or survey report and an insurance policy decide whether an asset can be insured, sold or inherited.
- The ownership is often shared. A house with a sibling, an aircraft with partners, a car inside a company.
None of this fits neatly into an app designed around accounts and transactions, which is why these assets are the first thing to go missing from a net worth figure.
What is on offer
We looked at what the pages of three products in the family office space say about themselves. We have not used any of them. Where a page does not say something, we say “not stated”.
| EstateSpace | Aleta | Masttro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it is | Physical asset management for private estates[1] | A private assets module in a family office platform[2] | Family office software[3] |
| Assets named | Real estate, art, collections, vehicles, vessels, aircraft[1] | Art, cars, wine, aircraft, collectibles[2] | Real estate, collections, motor vehicles, art, crypto and more[3] |
| Who it is for | Family offices, estate managers, principals and owners[1] | Family offices and principals[2] | Family offices, advisors, institutions and wealth owners[3] |
| Connects to custodians or banks | Not stated | Shows 100+ custodian and bank integrations[2] | 750+ custodians[3] |
| Price | $340, $870 and $1,100 a month, one-year commitment, 14-day trial[1] | Demo on request[2] | On request[3] |
None of the three pages we read uses the word individuals. That is not a criticism: they are built for a different job, with staff, advisors and entities in mind. But it explains why a single owner searching for family office software for individuals finds listings and demo requests rather than a price. Owned Map takes the physical-asset half of that job and sells it to one owner for a small subscription, without the custodian links.
What to record for each kind of asset
| Asset | Value from | Running costs to log | Paper and dates |
|---|---|---|---|
| House or land | Appraisal or broker opinion. Zillow is an estimate with a published median error of about 7% for off-market homes.[4] | Property tax, insurance, upkeep, any rent received | Deed, mortgage, insurance renewal, tax date |
| Classic or collector car | Appraisal, auction results, a specialist valuation | Insurance, storage, servicing | Title, appraisal, policy, registration |
| Yacht or sailboat | Survey, broker, comparable sales | Mooring, insurance, upkeep, fuel, crew | Registration, survey, policy, bill of sale |
| Aircraft (or a share) | Appraisal, broker | Hangar, insurance, inspections, your share of group costs | Registration, partnership agreement, policy, inspection dates |
Owned Map has these as asset types: house, apartment, office, retail, warehouse, parking, land, car, truck, motorcycle, RV, yacht, sailboat, jet ski, aircraft and heavy equipment. Each gets a pin, a value, a purchase cost, running costs, a loan if there is one, your share, documents and dates.
How to value things with no price feed
Every net worth figure that includes a classic car or a boat rests on a judgment. Three habits keep that judgment honest.
- Record the source and the date with the value. “Appraisal, March 2026” and “my estimate, today” are different statements, and a reader, an insurer or an executor should be able to tell which they are looking at.
- Value conservatively where the market is thin. A rare car or a unique boat may take a year to sell. If you would not expect to find a buyer at the number in a month, the number is a hope, not a value.
- Revisit on a schedule. Once a year for most assets; sooner after a major repair, a refit, an accident or a visible shift in the market for that kind of asset.
It also helps to keep two columns: what you paid, and what it is worth now. The gap between them is the number people forget to look at. In the example below the cars are up 28.2% on cost while the yacht and the aircraft share are down 15.6% and 13.3%. Owned Map shows both, and shows gain or loss against cost for every asset, so the pattern is visible without a calculation.
For a house, an automated estimate is a starting point and no more. Zillow publishes a median error of about 7% for off-market homes and wider in some places.[4] For a yacht or an aircraft, a broker or a survey is the usual basis. Whatever you use, write it next to the figure.
A worked example: five passion assets
Imagine an owner with these, all on their own share.
| Value | Cost | Debt | Cost to hold a year | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lake house (50% with a sibling) | $725,000 | $550,000 | $200,000 | $14,000 |
| Three classic cars | $423,000 | $330,000 | none | $12,600 |
| Yacht | $380,000 | $450,000 | $210,000 | $46,000 |
| Aircraft (one quarter) | $130,000 | $150,000 | none | $9,000 |
| Land | $220,000 | $180,000 | none | $3,400 |
The lake house is $1,450,000 whole, bought for $1,100,000, with a loan of $400,000; the table shows your half. The aircraft is $520,000 whole and costs the group $36,000 a year; the table shows your quarter. Running costs exclude loan payments.
Together: value $1,878,000, debt $410,000, net worth $1,468,000. It costs $85,000 a year to hold, which is 4.5% of the value.
Reading the example
A net worth figure of $1,468,000 is the headline. The detail is what you act on.
- The yacht is 20.2% of the value and 54.1% of the cost. It costs $46,000 a year, 12.1% of its $380,000 value, and it has lost 15.6% against its purchase price. It also carries a $210,000 loan.
- The aircraft share has lost 13.3% and costs 6.9% of your share’s value each year ($9,000 on $130,000).
- The cars are up 28.2% on what they cost, $93,000 on paper, at a holding cost of 3.0% of their value ($12,600 on $423,000).
- The land is up 22.2% and costs 1.5% of its value to hold ($3,400 on $220,000).
- The lake house is the largest holding, 38.6%, with 27.6% of its value owed ($200,000 on $725,000).
Nothing here says you should sell the yacht; you may love it. It says what the enjoyment costs, so the choice is made with the number in front of you. And because every value on this list is an opinion, record the source of each one next to it.[4]
Documents and dates
Each asset carries a folder of documents: the deed or title, the registration, the survey or appraisal, the insurance policy and the loan agreement. Upload one and the details are read for you to review before anything is saved; check the result, because it is a help and not an oracle.
Each also carries its dates, with reminders: the insurance renewal, the property tax, the registration, the inspection, the loan. A lapsed policy on a boat or a car is the sort of mistake that costs more than a year of any software.
If something happens to you
An executor cannot settle what nobody knows exists, and passion assets are the ones most likely to be missing from a list. In Caring.com’s 2025 survey of more than 2,500 US adults, only 24% said they have a will, down from 33% in 2022.[5] The Nebraska Department of Insurance advises recording brand, price, purchase date, model, serial number and receipts, with photos; for a vehicle, a boat or an aircraft, add the registration or title number.[6]
A record that lists each asset, its value, its loan, who shares it, where its papers are and when its insurance renews is the document an executor would most want to find. Our page on the net worth tracker without linking bank accounts explains why a tool that never touches your accounts can still give your family that overview.
What Owned Map does not do
- It does not hold investment, bank, brokerage, retirement or crypto accounts. Its asset types are physical: property, land, vehicles, boats, aircraft and equipment.
- It does not link to a custodian, a bank or a card, and it reports no portfolio performance.
- It is not accounting software, does not run payroll or crew and does not manage maintenance schedules.
- It does not value your assets. You enter the value and the source.
If you need consolidated reporting across custodians, that is what the family office platforms above are for, and Owned Map can sit beside one. If you want to compare the tools that mix accounts and assets, our roundup of the best net worth tracker for real estate covers seven.
Set it up in an afternoon
- List what you own, each asset on a line, using our free inventory template, and import the CSV.
- For each one, set the value and write down where it comes from.
- Enter your share and the legal owner where it is not 100% and you.
- Add the running costs and any loan.
- Upload the title, the policy and the registration, and set the renewal dates.
- Add a household member or set the emergency sheet.
Once a year, update the values and the costs. That is the whole upkeep.
Price and who it is for
$47 a month includes 3 assets. $15 each for assets 4 to 10, $10 each for assets 11 to 25 and $5 each from the 26th, up to 100 assets. Paying yearly is 30% less. There is a 7-day free trial, and a card is required.
| Assets tracked | Monthly | Paid yearly |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | $47 | $394.80 |
| 10 | $152 | $1,276.80 |
| 25 | $302 | $2,536.80 |
| 50 | $427 | $3,586.80 |
It suits an owner with a handful to a few dozen physical assets who wants one clear record without staff, custodians or a sales call. If you need a team to manage an estate, the family office products above are built for that, and their pricing reflects it.
How we checked
We wrote this page on November 7, 2026. What we say about EstateSpace, Aleta and Masttro comes from the public pages listed under Sources. We have not used any of them, and a page not mentioning a feature does not mean it is missing. EstateSpace’s prices are the ones on its home page; we could not tell from the page which annual figures belong to which plan, so we quote only the monthly ones. What we say about Owned Map is what the product does today. The example is ours.
Every outside claim is numbered and listed under Sources below. If you spot something out of date, email support@ownedmap.com and we will correct it. This page is general information, not financial advice.

Frequently asked questions
What is a luxury asset portfolio tracker?
It is a place to record the physical assets people own and enjoy, such as houses, classic cars, yachts and aircraft, with their value, running cost, loan, co-owners and paperwork.
Can Owned Map track a yacht or an aircraft?
Yes. Yachts, sailboats, jet skis, aircraft, cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, land and property are asset types, each with its documents and dates.
Does it hold my investment accounts?
No. Owned Map has no bank, brokerage, retirement or crypto accounts and does not link to custodians. It tracks physical assets only.
Is there family office software for individuals?
The family office products we read name family offices, advisors, principals or wealth owners and sell by demo or by plan. Owned Map is a lighter tool for one owner’s physical assets.
How do I value a classic car or a boat?
Use an appraisal, a survey, a broker’s opinion or comparable sales, and record the source and date next to the value. Owned Map stores the figure you give it.
Can I track an asset I own with a partner?
Yes. Set your ownership percentage and Owned Map applies it to every figure, so you see your share rather than the whole asset.
Can my accountant or advisor see it?
You can share a read-only link or add household members. No bank balances are involved because the app does not hold any.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. There is a 7-day free trial, and a card is required to start it. You can cancel from your profile menu at any time.
